John 3:16 gets quoted so often that people have actually become numb to the overwhelming love that is contained in those twenty-five words spoken by Jesus to Nicodemus that night, but those words uttered in that self-same love still ring just as true and has not waned in the intervening years since. You see, God still loves the world that much. He sent His Son to the earth just for you, to take your rightful place on that cross, and to take the punishment that you deserve for the sins you committed just so that He will not have to spend eternity without you in His Presence. His love is unlike any other you will find on this earth. Not one person will love you like Him. His love is total, pure, unconditional. There are no strings attached. He just wants your love and adoration.

This is what blows my mind. He counts us as worth it. That means you are worth it. I know that I don’t feel worthy of that kind of love, but He paid the highest price that has ever been paid for anything in the history of the universe in the hopes that we will make the decision to accept His outstretched hand and be saved from an eternity of torment and pain. But, in the end, it IS our decision. He will not force His unfathomable, priceless gift upon us. He did all this without a guarantee of a return on His investment. He is seeking you.

Today, I am asking you to carefully consider that which has been given to us, if we will accept His generous offer, and I am asking you to carefully consider the consequences if we don’t. Do you want to know pure, unconditional love? It can be yours today. All you have to do is accept His salvation through His Son’s sacrifice, and ask Him to forgive your sins and come and live in your heart as Lord of your life.
